Android 11 Will Get Rid of 4GB Limit on Video Recordings
This is one of the long-existing issues that is still not addressed and it is problematic as you just can’t shoot a complete length video over the 4GB size limit and now that the Android 11 Beta 1 is out for testing, we can expect that Android 11 will get rid of 4GB limit on video recordings. People from Android Police actually tested the new beta 1 and they still saw the issue present there while recording videos via Google Camera app, the videos would still split into 4GB sized files. Well, they have noticed that this wasn’t the case when the recorded video with Open Camera by Mark Harman. Now, this could be due to the fact that it is using the mpeg4writer API named in the original commit. Anyways, with this interesting development, we can say that there won’t be 4GB caps for video recordings in Android 11 but it is really important for the developers to get rid of this issue with the Android 11 update.
