How to share files between your Mac and PC:
On your Mac, open Finder and select the file or files you want to share.
Click the Share button (or press Command-Sharing) and choose File Sharing from the list of options.
Enter your PC’s IP address or hostname in the “Address” field, and click OK.
On your PC, open File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac).
Double-click the shared file or folder to open it. ..
Open the System Preferences panel and click on the Sharing tab.
In the Sharing section, you’ll need to enable file sharing by clicking on the three lines in the top row and then clicking on the “Share this file” button.
If you’re using a Macbook Air or earlier model, you won’t need to do anything else; your computer will already be sharing files with other devices automatically. If you’re using a Macbook Pro or later model, you’ll need to follow these steps:
Open System Preferences and click on the Sharing tab.
In the Sharing section, you’ll need to enable file sharing by clicking on the three lines in the top row and then clicking on the “Share this file” button.
Click on “OK” to finish sharing your file!
Enable File Sharing on Mac OS X
In System Preferences, select the Keyboard and Mouse preferences. In the Keyboard and Mouse preferences, select the “Use a trackball” preference. In the “Trackball” preference, set the following values: -The “Wheel” value should be set to 1.0 so that it is at its default value of 1.0. -The “Mouse Wheel” value should be set to 2.5 so that it is at its default value of 2.5.

You can see the computer’s IP address by clicking on the Options button in the main window. The Shared Folders window will show you how many folders are shared out by default, and under Users, you can see the standard permissions.
To connect to a Windows machine from a Mac, you need to check the box next to the user name and enter your password. If you don’t do this step, you’ll be asked to enter the username and password from your Windows machine, but it will just give you an error even if you type it in correctly. ..

Connect to Mac from Windows
If you want to use a different computer, you can open up Explorer and click on the Sharing icon. You should see a list of computers that are connected to the network.
If you’re using Windows 10, you can enable Network Discovery by going to the following location: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts If your Mac has spaces in its user account name, don’t worry; Windows will handle it just fine.
If everything went according to plan, you should see some shared folders now on your Windows computer! ..
Start, then Run and type in the IP address or computer name: Run the following command to connect to the computer on your network: netstat -an
You can now copy files back and forth between your Mac and Windows machines.
OS X’s firewall can cause problems if it’s not set up correctly. By default, the firewall is enabled, but you can block all incoming connections by going to Firewall Options and checking the “Block all incoming connections” box. If you want to share files with others, you’ll need to disable the firewall. ..
